CESA EAL Program
In partnership with schools, the CESA English as and Additional Language program exists to holistically improve the language and literacy learning of EAL students in order for them to successfully access the school curriculum. EAL Program resourcing is specifically targeted at EAL learners who require informed intervention for acceleration of their English language.

The EAL program allocates resources based on analysis of schools’ needs in order to build the capacity of teachers and schools to support EAL learners, as indicated in the school’s annual improvement plan. Information and resources related to this year’s EAL data collection are available here.
The EAL team provides support and advice regarding EAL learners, new arrival students and those with refugee experience. They also develop resources (eg publications and e-learning modules) and facilitate evidence based continuous school improvement processes in relation to EAL priorities. Some professional learning in the form of centrally based workshops and courses is also offered. Please visit the CESA Registration Centre to view current professional learning.
